As an alumnae member of the Chi Omega fraternity, I had the privilege of attending our annual Eleusinia event in NYC at Tavern on the Green.
Eleusinia is the annual event celebrating the founding day of the Chi Omega Fraternity. Chi Omega was founded on April 5, 1895 at the University of Arkansas. To learn more about Chi Omega, you can click here.
For this special event, I created a beautiful dress using Butterick pattern #B6625 and a printed cotton sateen fabric from Carolina Herrera, purchased from Mood Fabrics. The fabric comes in a white ground and navy-ground color option. To create this dress, the pattern uses a band of fabric at the hem. So I used the opportunity to purchase both colors of fabric.
The end result looks like something that could be purchased straight from Carolina Herrera. And the dress cost less than $100. I found a dress from Carolina Herrera using this fabric at Neiman Marcus; it retailed for $1,690! Talk about savvy!
